Siasa za Marekani bwana! Kuna mgombea anasema anataka kufanya Marekani iwe kubwa Kwa mara nyingine, hivi ni lini iliwahi kuwa kubwa, Ni wakati gani imekuwa ndogo, Kwa nini? Tukumbuke uchumi wa Marekani Kwa sasa Kwa vipimo vya pato la taifa unaongoza duniani, ni dollar 18,558 ikifuatiwa na China Kwa mbali yaani dollar 11,383. Hapo bado hujalinganisha mambo mengine Kama nguvu za kijeshi na kadhalika. Siasa zina mambo.

Why? We all know the challenges of civil rights including the rights of women to vote America grappled with during her gloomy past. What about the cowardly act of dropping atomic bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki in WW2, could anyone consider that was greatness? If it was great at that time how could it be small now when her GDP is number one in the world (USD 18,558) and accounts for 24.5% of the global GDP followed by far by China (with a GDP of USD 11,383), when her current president is Barack Obama and has ruled America for two terms? When the most vicious enemy of US and leader of terrorism was taken out with no collateral damage under leadership of the current Commander in Chief, When for the first time America has a woman as the presidential candidate from a major political party? I would think there wasn’t greater time than this! You know what I mean!

Je, mitambo ya kusindika vyakula Tanzania inatumia “food grade lubricants”?

Jana nilikuwa na rafiki yangu anayehusika na mambo ya viwango tukazungumza mambo kadhaa kuhusu viwango vya bidhaa mbalimbali hapa nchini. Kuna wakati niliwahi kurusha kwenye mtandao mwingine juu ubora wa nondo tunazojengea hapa nchini baada ya kuzifanyia majaribio binafsi. Bahati mbaya kabisa viongozi wetu wa mashirika kama TBS au taasisi kwa ujumla ama hawako au hawashiriki kwa mitandao ya jamii. Nashauri wafanye hivyo ili tusaidiane na umma kuibua matatizo ya viwango.

Tanzania tuna viwanda vya kusindika vyakula na madawa kwa ajili ya matumizi ya wanadamu na mifugo ambayo wengi wetu huila pia au kutumia mazao yake kama maziwa nk. Tukiwa na mjadala na huyu ndg yangu nikaibua hoja ya vilainishi vya mitambo inayosindika vyakula. Katika mitambo hiyo Kuna sehemu tunaita nyeti (critical areas) ambapo chakula kinaweza kutana na vilainishi kiuhalisia kulinda afya ya binadamu nchi zilizoendelea zimeamua tu kwamba mtambo unaosindika vyakula wote ni critical. Hivyo ni lazima kutumia “food grade lubricants” mazao ya plastic zinazotumika kubeba chakula na maji ni lazima ziwe food grade pia.

Sasa swali: je,  viwanda vyetu vinavyozalisha chakula vinatumia food grade lubricants kuepusha uchafuzi wa chakula? Nani anahakikisha hilo linafanyika? Total food grade policy Inatokana na ukweli kwamba mafundi wanaweza kuchanganganya lubricants hivyo kuondoa huo uwezekano ni kutumia food grades kwa mitambo yote ya kusindika vyakula. Na watu wasitoe sababu, kwenye soko tuna hydraulic oil, transmission oil, greases za food grade.

Nimebahatika week hizi mbili kuwa site agent- kusimamia ujenzi mahali fulani. Kazi hii imenipa nafasi ya kutembelea maduka kadhaa ya wafanya biashara. Nimegundua mambo yafuatayo:
1.Wauza bidhaa pamoja na kuwa na Mashine za EFD za kutoa risiti za mauzo ili mamlaka husika ziweze kujua ni sehemu gani ya mauzo inatakiwa kutozwa kodi, hawafurahii kutoa risiti. 

2. Ukiwataka watoe risiti wanakwambia mtandao uko na shida. Kwa sababu nina uelewa wa mambo ya IT mmoja nikamwambia anipe nijaribu kuona na kusaidia, alikataa. 

3.Ukidai risiti wanapandisha bei mlopatana mwanzo. Risiti inakuwa adhabu kwa mteja hivyo kufisha moyo mteja kang’ang’ania risiti 

4.Bei kwenye maduka hazibandikwi ili kulinda haki za mlaji. Hii inawapa wafanya biashara uwanja mkubwa wa kucheza na saikolojia ya mlaji. Hii sijawahi kuiona nchi zilizoendelea ambazo serikali zake zinawajibika kwa wananchi. Bei ni Lazima zibandikwe kwa kila bidhaa. 

5.Nilienda Sao Hill pia pamoja na shughuli zangu nilitaka kujua kwa nini wanashindwa kuiuzia au kuitosheleza Tanesco na nguzo za umeme ili hali wana miti ya kutosha. Nilichoambiwa kiliniacha midomo wazi. Sitakisema kwa sasa. Ila nashangaa serikali yenye mikono mirefu inashindwaje kushughulika na jambo hili once and for all ili kuleta nidhamu katika taratibu za manunuzi. 

Nashauri tu wananchi kama kweli sauti ninazozisikia mtaani ni za dhati kutoka kwenye mioyo ya Watanzania kwamba, “tumepata jembe”, “Rais huyu ndiye tuliyemtaka”, “Kama akiendelea hivi…”, “tunamkubali ” na maneno mengine mengi, tumsaidie huyu ndugu yetu. Tufanye wajibu wetu. Mfano kama sote tukiamka leo tunaokwenda madukani tuwaambie wafanya biashara hakitaeleweka hadi watupe risiti, mbona nchi itapata adabu kwa ghafla!

Matatizo ya Tanesco: Je, Kama Nchi Tuna nia ya Dhati ya Kuyatatua?

Nimekuwa Na maswali machache baada ya kusoma habari ya Jana kuhusu Tanesco kutoka Kwa gazeti la Daily News isemayo, “Tanesco in Financial Mess”.  

Bila kujali tofauti zetu kisiasa hivi Tuna Tatizo gani na kuendesha mashirika ya umma?
Najua kuna madeni makubwa serikali na   taasisi zake zinadaiwa iweje watu maskini kuliko serikali tanaweza kulipia bili zetu tena hata kabla ya kutumia huku umeme ukikatwa ovyo ilihali serikali ambayo taasisi zake hata kukiwa na mgao zenyewe zinaendelea kupata umeme kama kawa Na hazilipi?

Je, inawezekana serikali inafanya makusudi ili kuiua Tanesco Kisha wapate sababu ya kuiuza Kwa wageni? Kwa nini inashindwa kulipa?

Kwa uongozi wa Tanesco: hivi Tanesco iko huru kupanga mikakati yake na kisha mpango biashara na namna ya kujiendesha kwa faida bila kuingiliwa? Hii mikataba ya songas na mingine ya uzalishaji na kuiuzia Tanesco inawezekana kibiashara na kiuchumi (is it a viable business case? Maana katika biashara kuna kitu tunaita uendelevu wa biashara na wateja wako yaani business sustainability au tulivyozoea sustainable development. Yaani tunapofanya biashara na mtu hatufanyi Kwa gharama ya kesho yaani kana kwamba kesho hapatakuwa na kizazi kingine cha kufanya nacho biashara. Tunaita biashara ya kuua.

Je wanaoiuzia umeme Tanesco wanajali pia kuna kesho? Au Ni leo tu yaani Chukua Chako Mapema maana kesho si yako? Kanuni nzuri ya biashara endelevu Ni kwamba huchukui faida kubwa kiasi cha kuathiri ulinganifu wa biashara kesho.

Mwaka 85 nilipogoma kubeba bango kwenye sherehe Za wafanyakazi, nakumbuka kwenye hotuba yake Mwalimu alisema mabepari Ni sawa na majibwa ukiyatupia chakula hugombania, je Kwa muktadha huu Tanesco imetupiwa Haya majamaa wanaigombania?
Deni wanalodai Songas la miezi 14 ni Dola milioni 100 sawa shs zetu 200,000,000,000 sawa na bilioni 200! Sawa na bilioni 14 na milioni 300 kila mwezi. Yaani milion 1,000 mara 14 halafu kana kwamba haitoshi unaongezea million zingine 300. Hapo bado IPTL na mtoto yule wa Richmond (Dowans)!

Xenophobic attacks in South Africa are horrible and intolerable in Independent Africa

As a citizen of Africa equally concerned like the rest us cherishing the highest standards of Human Rights, I condemn with the possible strongest terms the xenophobic violence currently perpetrated by some South Africans to fellow human beings. They have courage and zeal to demolish a white man statue who is already dead, but can’t dare to slap a living white man, yet they feel energized to burn and kill fellow African and Asian immigrants. What a shame for these perpetrators, they perhaps don’t know their identity, they are ignorant of history. They even don’t know that they are where they are now because of the sacrifice the rest of us made.

This is the manifestation of hatred and jealousy to those who are successful. Foreigners went there to seek survival. Some are even more qualified and competent than most of the South Africans but they did not choose a work to do provided it gave them something to survive. They have fought hard, seeking for survival made them, without their express knowledge, obey some laws of success. Indigenous as in all places are complacent, they choose what to do, and they are largely guaranteed of survival even with very minimal effort. As a result they lag behind, they suffer success malnutrition, they don’t grow and as it is common with many of us they start looking for a reason from without. The easy excuse is to blame others, to make them the reason of their failure. We are at some point all told sky is the limit and that opportunities are many out there and are enough for everybody.

Jews are perhaps the only people who have mostly lived like sojourners since when God declared them as a nation. I have my reservations to their policies in the Middle East but I have learnt a great deal in their secret of success in business, education and agriculture. The greatest being that the hard way for them has opened myriads of opportunities the rest of us don’t see. Why? Because many of us naturally avoid the hard way so the opportunities beyond the hard way are seen by few who either dare to dare or have no choice but that only hard way.

South Africa like many other African countries have unparalleled opportunities and challenges as well let’s all work together to unearth opportunities and overcome the challenges for us today and our future generations. We are the reasons of success or failure not them.

Rais wa Uruguay, Jose Mujica, almaarufu ‘Pepe’, ambaye aliwahi kuwa mpiganaji wa msituni, ambaye muda wote amekuwa akiishi katika shamba lake amekuwa akitoa sehemu ya mshahara wake kwenye shirika la misaada, sasa ameachia madaraka baada ya kutawala miaka mitano, amekamilisha muhula wake akiwa mmoja wa viongozi maarufu sana duniani.

Mujica, (79), anaondoka madarakani akiwa na ukubali wa asilimia 65 ya watu wa Uruguay. Ameheshimu katiba inayomzuia kugombea vipindi vinavyofuatana.

Yeye anasema, ‘Nilipoanza kuwa rais nilijaa nadharia, lakini baadaye ukweli uligonga’, alisika akisema alipohojiwa gazeti la wiki hii la AFP.

Baadhi humwita “Rais maskini kuliko wote duniani”. Wengine, “Rais ambaye kila nchi wengependa wawe naye”. Lakini Mujica husema, “Bado kuna mengi ya kufanya” na ana matumaini kwamba serikali ijayo, itayoongozwa na Ndugu Tabare Vasquez (Ambaye kachaguliwa kwa mara ya pili Novemba mwaka jana) atakuwa, “bora kuliko mimi na atakuwa na mafanikio makubwa

Mujica amefanikiwa kuiweka Uruguay katika ramani ya dunia. Amefanikiwa kuibadili nchi ya wafugaji ya watu milioni 3.4 kuwa nchi inayouza nishati nje, Brazili ikiwa nchi inayoongoza kama soko lao (ikifuatiwa na China, Argentina, Venezuela na Marekani).

Uchumi wa Uruguay wa Dola za kimarekani billion 55 umekuwa ukikua kwa asilimia 5.7 kila mwaka kuanzia mwaka 2005, kwa mujibu wa benki ya dunia. Deni la Uruguay likilinganishwa na pato la taifa (yaani uwiano kati ya deni na patoa la taifa – debt-to-GDP ratio) limekuwa likipungua kutoka asilimia 100 mwaka 2003 hadi asilimia 60 mwaka 2014. Kwa muda huo pia gharama za deni hilo zimepungua pia ikiwemo matumizi ya dola kutoka asilimia 80 mwaka 2002 hadi asilimia 50 mwaka 2014. Takwimu hizi bila shaka zinadhirisha taifa linaloongozwa na mtu makini.

Mwenyewe anasema, “Tumekuwa na miaka chanya ya usawa. Miaka kumi iliyopita Waurguay asilimia 39 waliishi chini ya kiwango cha umaskini; tumeshusha kiwango hicho hadi asilimia 11 tu na tumepunguza watu wanaoishi katika umaskini uliokithiri kutoka aslimia 5 hadi 0.5”.

Baada ya kushindwa kwa jitihada za nchi za Amerika ya kusini kwenye vita dhidi ya madawa ya kulevya, nchi hii ya Amerika ya kusini ikawa nchi ya kwanza duniani kuhalalisha matumizi ya bangi, Mujica alisimamia hoja kwamba biashara ya madawa ya kulevya ni hatari zaidi ya bangi yenyewe. Huo ndio ulikuwa msimamo wake sie kwetu hapa bangi ng’o. Japo nasikia kuna watu wametajirika sana na bangi hapa kwetu Tanzania.

Kwa kweli ni miongoni mwa marais wenye upeo mkubwa katika eneo la Amerika ya Kusini. Ingawa Mujica amefanya mambo mengine ambayo hayakubaliki katika jamii na imani zetu kama kuhalalisha ndoa za jinsia moja, amekuwa rais wa kwanza kuwakubali wazuiwa wa Guantanamo Bay kule Cuba. Wazuiwa wa Marekani 6 ambao walikuwa hawajashitakiwa kwa kosa lolote walikaribishwa Uruguay kama wakimbizi. Hawa walikuwa Wasyria wanne, Mpalestina na Mtunisia. Ingawaweje waliruhusiwa kuachiwa tanu mwaka 2009, Marekani haikuwaachia hadi pale rais wa Uruguay alipokubali kuwapokea.

Ndani ya mafanikio hayo na utata katika maamuzi hasa ya mambo ya kijamii, tukumbuke kwamba rais Mujica alikuwa kiongozi wa wapiganaji waasi wa msituni wa mrengo wa kushoto, alifungwa miaka 13 jela wakati wa utawala wa kidikteta na kijeshi. Alihimili mateso na miezi mingi ya kuwekwa upweke. Lakini pamoja na yote Mujica anasema hajutii muda wake gerezani bali anaamini ulimsaidia kujenga tabia yake. Wengi leo ugumu tunaulaani japo wakati mwingi hutusaidia kutujenga. Raha maisha yote ya ujana, kula kulala havijengi vinaharibu.

Ukarimu wa Rais Mujica unaongea mengi na makubwa: Alikataa kuhamia Ikulu ya kifahari ya Uruguay ambapo ndio makao rasmi ya Rais, badala yake akachagua kuishi shambani mwake nje ya mji wa Montevideo akiwa na mkewe na mbwa kilema wa miguu mitatu. Pepe kama anavyojulikana alitoa asilimia 90 ya mshahara wake  mfuko wa misaada kwa maskini akisema hakuhitaji mshahara huo. Anaendesha gari aina ya Volkswagen Beetle ya mwaka 1987!

Mwaka jana, Mujica alikataa ofa ya dola millioni moja kutoka kwa shehe wa kiarabu alotaka kununua gari lake. Pepe alikataa kuuza gari yake hiyo akisema, atawaudhi, ‘Marafiki zake ambao walichangia kuwanunulia hilo gari”

Alivyo mtu wa pekee kuna siku moja aliwahi kusimama na kumpa lifti kijana aitwaye Gerald aliyekuwa amesimama pembeni akiomba lifti. Aliposhushwa alishukura sana na kushangaa kupewa lift na rais wa nchi maana wote walimpita lakini yeye alisimama na kumsaidia.

Kiongozi bora ni yule anayemaindi mabadiliko chanya ya watu na nchi yake na si yule anayeangalia mabadiliko yake tu. Viongozi wengi wameshindwa kuleta mabadiliko katika nchi zetu kwa tamaa tu ya kutajirika utajiri ambao kiuhalisia hatuendi nao popote. Wakati huu watu wanapofikiria kuwa viongozi katika ngazi mbalimbali wajihoji nia hasa yao nini? Ni kusavaivu tu kwa sababu hawana namna nyingine ya kuishi ama wanajitoa kwa ajili ya nchi yao hata kama wao watakufa maskini lakini potelea mbali nchi isonge? Ufisadi ambao tumekuwa tukiushuhudia kwa viongozi wetu kila kukicha unatisha na hauleti matumaini ya ama muda mfupi au mrefu. Ni bahati mbaya sana hakuna mgombea wa urais katika wale waloonyesha nia anayeyaona haya zaidi ya kujenga mfumo wa kulindana. Nani atatoka kama Mujica wa Uruguay?

Fanya mabadiliko katika eneo lako unalolimudu (Make change within your sphere of influence)

Leo nimeenda asubuhi kwenye duka moja kubwa wenyewe mwaita supa maketi, mie mpenzi wa karanga na korosho. Kwa muda mrefu sasa nimekuwa nikienda pale kununua hizo njugu (nuts). Muda fulani uliopita niliacha baada ya kugundua ubora wa zile karanga umebadilika yaani umeshuka. Lakini basi kila wakati hupita kuona kama kuna mabadiliko chanya ya ubora wa hizo karanga. Ajabu kila ninazozikuta ni mbaya zaidi kwa maana zimeungua zaidi, uchafu mwingi na zilizooza zinaonekana wazi zaidi.

Nilipokuwa hapo leo kwa hiyo shelf nikatafakari nikaona kuwa hili jambo la kuwa naumia tu na kuondoka haifai ngoja nijaribu kuvuka kidogo msitari wa upole wangu. Mwezenu nilikuwa nimetokelezea kipamba pia na kamkia ka shingoni, si mwajua tena sie watu wa mara moja kwa mwezi! Ukiniona waweza fikiria ni miongoni mwa wale wala mboga za milioni kumi nini! hahahah!

Basi nikachukua pakiti ya karanga, nikajivalisha sura ya mamlaka kidogo (baada ya kukumbuka ule usemi mfalme sijui ni mteja ooh hapana, ‘Mteja ni mfalme) nikauliza mfanyakazi mmoja wa hapo dukani, nani mkuu wa hapa? Kanionyesha jamaa mmoja ambaye naye alikuwa kaweka kipamba chake kuonyesha kweli ni mkuu pale. Nikamfuata yapata kama mita kumi hivi kutoka kwa ile shelf, mita kumi zilinipa muda wa kupanga hoja na kuzoea mwonekano wa kimamlaka niliouvaa muda mfupi. Nilimuuliza swali moja tu, ‘Ubora wa hizi karanga unalingana na hadhi na heshima ya hili duka?’, swali lililofuata, ‘Hili duka kubwa mna mpango gani wa kusaidia wajasiriamali kuinua ubora wa bidhaa zao?’

Yule mkuu nikaona kashtuka na kupata woga hivi. Nikarekebisha kidogo uimla niliomwingia nao. Akachukua ile bidhaa tukafuatana naye kwenye ile shelf, kila akiokota pakiti tatizo ni lilelile. Ndipo aliponigeukia na kuniomba radhi sana. Na kushangaa eti kupata mteja mkweli na jasiri wa kusema kisichomfurahisha. Na akakiri kwamba ni kweli hiyo bidhaa haiendi siku hizi. Mwisho niliona wanaiondoa bidhaa yote kwa shelf, wakampigia muuzaji wa hiyo bidhaa aje kuichukua mara moja.

Nikawaambia ili kuleta nidhamu katika ubora wa bidhaa zetu hapa nchini ni vizuri wafanyabiashara wa kati wawe wanaelekeza wajasiriamali wetu kuweka na kuheshimu viwango fulani vya ubora. Hii itatusaidia kuinua ubora wa bidhaa zetu hata zionekane zinafaa kuuzwa nje pia. Kwa nini isiwezekane? Kitu kingine nikajifunza kumbe wote tungechukua hatua katika mdura wetu wa mvuto (our sphere of influence) tunaweza kuleta mabadiliko. Na ujumla wa mabadiliko madogo madogo ya sisi wanyonge yatajijenga na kuwa mabadiliko makubwa tena ya kudumu (sustainable changes). Naitoa hii stori ya kweli kwa wote wapenda mabadiliko.
