‘Dar’s Rwandan guests, FDLR and plots against a country’: A column written to mud-sling Tanzania

Here are my views on the column posted by Joseph Rwagatare in the http://www.newtimes.co.rw/news/index.php?i=15616&a=74076, purporting that President Kikwete is plotting against Rwanda.

This article has no any material facts. It is an insinuation bent to mud-sling Tanzania. The writer seem to have poor reasoning and he is writing to satisfy his hunger of bitterness. Tanzania has no intention to support any kind of aggression against Rwandans. We all know that President Kagame and his sympathizers were irked by our acceptence to contribute to the UN Mission to restore peace in DRC.

M23 is fully supported by Kagame who is using it to plunder DRC resources and to perpetuate instability in the neighboring country. But remember Tanzania did not sent our forces on a private mission rather we responded to the international call. Our forces are operating in Rwanda within the confines of international law. We responded on the moral call, we support peace in DRC, we are tired of constant surge of violence, displacement, human rights abuse against especially helpless and vulnerable women and children.

Rwanda should stop meddling in DRC affairs, stop using M23 to destabilize its neighbour and stop stealing DRC natural resources. It is inconceivable that Tanzania wants to cause trouble in Rwanda. Any effort or action done by Tanzania is for the good and stability of Rwanda. The earlier Rwanda understands this the better.

Joseph Rwagatare should also remember Tanzania is a sovereign state and free to invite any person within its boarders. Tanzania shall not seek permission from Rwanda as to whether we should allow so and so to come to our country. Tanzania does not share any stake in Rwanda politics only that we are always delighted to see stable states around us. It is upon Rwanda to seek a lasting solution to its problems and it has some choices to make. Each choice has some price and consequences too. But as I have said our joy is to see stability in all our strategic neighbours and we are happy to contribute towards that not the other way round.

You Need to Understand your Niche to have a Breakthrough

Every person has her/his niche. I call it a space. Nobody is denied of such space where he/she can exert unique strengths and talents. It doesn’t depend on the situation, circumstances or education. It is a unique chance to exercise your judgement and do things which can’t be copied by others, it is only you who have the opportunity to do it ‘that way’. If you can’t do it nobody else can do it, not your parents, your colleagues, your boss etc. This is a golden chance which most people miss and some go to their tombs without exercising this unique potential which would otherwise change their destiny forever.

You can be given all policies, rules, processes and guidelines to perform a certain task but yet you have this space to add a unique flavor to your performance to an extent that even your boss admits that yes, all other guys do equally very well but yours has some unique characteristics. It is only you who can do it that way. This unique space for you to do things differently exists at every facets of your life be it at home, work places, in politics, in faith matters, in academic matters, in your social life etc. Can we take time, to sit back today evening and challenge ourselves to exactly understand what is our niche. Repeat this everyday in the morning before you jump on any piece of work and also later in the evening to take stock of whether and how you utilized this space. This simple act can bring change in your life you have never thought of. There is nothing bad in trying! #ChangeTanzania

Matatizo ya Watanzania ni Makubwa Kuliko Vipimo vya GNP na GDP

Watu wa zamani kama kina Newton, Galileo, Faraday, na wa mwisho mwisho kama kina Einstein walikuwa wanafikiri sana. Na kufikiri kwao kumeleta mapinduzi katika jamii.

Wapo pia Watu wa zamani kama kina Newton, Galileo, Faraday, na wa mwisho mwisho kama kina Einstein walikuwa wanafikiri sana. Na kufikiri kwao kumeleta mapinduzi katika jamii.

Wapo pia waliofanya hivyo katika Nyanja za uchumi na jamii. Leo tunatumia nadharia zao bila kufikiri wala kuhoji zaidi ili ikiwezekana tugundue au kuboresha nadharia zao ili zifae kutumika katika kizazi hiki. GNP, GDP n.k vililalia kwenye urahisi. Maisha ya watu huwezi kuyapima kwa rula. Mwanadamu ni mchanganyiko (complex) huwezi kuweka vipimo rahisi hivi kusema yuko na hali gani kijamii. Mfano Tanzania inasemwa kwa sasa hivi uchumi wake unakua kwa haraka na baadhi ya wanasiasa na watawala wanafurahi na kujitapa, lakini hali ya wananchi ikoje?

Uchumi mzuri si tarakimu tu bali ubora wa maisha kwa watu. Leo baada ya miaka 50 ya uhuru bado tunataabika na maji, huduma dhaifu za afya, elimu inayodorora kila kukicha, huduma ya nishati isiyo na uhakika, makazi hafifu, miundo mbinu isyokidhi mahitaji ya watu, matatizo lukuki ya kiuongozi na utawala bora na kadhalika. Kujitapa kwa kipimo kimoja tu ni sawa na kutupa punje moja ya mchanga baharini ukitegemea upate wimbi la kuitikisa meli ya mizgo.

Vipimo vingine vinavyohusiana na ubora wa maisha ya mwananchi hatuvijali, tunajali na kuheshimu vipimo vya wakubwa wanaoutupa hela. Juzi mmoja wao kaandika makala ya kutudharau, wafuatiliaji wa mambo mtakuwa mmesoma makala ya tajiri aliyepindukia ndugu William Gates (almaarufu Bill Gates). Anasema tatizo la dola chache zinazopotea katika rushwa ya misaada wanayotupa si kitu ukilinganisha na faida ya misaada hiyo kwetu! Ni dharau kubwa kwetu watanzania. Sikumbuki tarakimu kwa haraka lakini sote tunajua ufisadi unavyokula sehemu ya bajeti yetu kila mwaka. Maisha yanayopotea kwa ajili rushwa. Hivi kweli mama na mtoto wanaofariki kwa kukosa kutoa kitu kidogo ama kwa daktari au kwa nesi thamani yake Bill Gates anaijua? Ufisadi katika nyanja muhimu za uchumi ambazo zingetuletea mabadiliko na badala yake wanafaidika wajanja wachache na wageni anaufahamu?

Inakera sana! Nawasihi watanzania wote kila mmoja katika sehemu amabayo ana mvuto fulani (individual sphere of influence) afanye kitu tuokoe hii nchi. Si mambo ya mzaha haya ni mambo nyeti.
